20 Oct 01 In the Newsletter this Month: *Digital Media Arts Competition - a reminder *Black History Month Events DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS COMPETITION 2001 - A REMINDER ENTER NOW : Closing date for the Digital Arts Competition, that is open to those in the Luton and Dunstable area, is midnight 31 Dec 01. Entries could include a digital video, animation, picture show, photo show or presentation (e.g. using powerpoint), musical recital, poetry reading or speach and should be of 2 to 10 minutes in duration. How about a 5 minute play, a narrated slide show about your holiday in a far-away place, a craft demonstration or a description of one of your paintings? More entries are needed to make this a good competition. There are "Webcast Awards" money prizes in ten different categories covering all aspects of production. There is an under 16's and a disabled category. Entry is FREE. BLACK HISTORY MONTH, Luton A amazing array of events are being staged in Luton (and throughout Britain) during October by the African and Caribbean members of the community. They cover all aspects of their background and culture and are open to the general public. Most have free entry. Many events are also being run in schools.
