Big thanks!

.... to all who braved the 'Night of no Tube service' and attended
Mondays CONSUME #5 Meeting..

We had a well rounded discussion and update of the project progress
to date and even managed to cover each Item in the Agenda .. in the
assigned order , well that's a first for me anyway..

Here's the url for those of you who couldn't make it but would like
to read the agenda and notes we started with.
http://consume.spc.org/meeting5.html . Talk veered all over the place
via the IP and routing deepwater and funding issue to some practical
evidence of approach to node development and group practice. Thanks
to Paul for making a special trip down from Luton to talk about
initiatives there to set up a wireless club. the L&D Community Network

Conclusions are sometimes hard to draw from such meetings but for me
it is clear we need to build up support for those now ready to go
ahead and install equipment in terms of desktop and rooftop,
particularly antenna tech.

The node database will get its long overdue refurbishment in the next
week (please guys) at which point will be clear to assign routing
schedules to registered nodes and extend the map making component of
the tool.

I was so busy talking I did not take miniutes though several present
certainly took notes so please publish them ASAP.

In talking to one of those present I discovered there had been a spot
more press that I had missed, so please have a peek at this in pdf
format sorry.. hey LinuxUser!
http://www.linuxuser.co.uk/articles/issue6/lu6-Linux_at_Work-Radio_Gaga.pdf

Would those who proposed meeting locations please firm up conditions
for use and when time comes to book up a venue for the next meeting
we will be ready. Having said that It would make good sense to hold a
couple of practical sessions before then for those getting their
hands on equipment and climbing their roof and to experiment more
directly with a range of equipment and operating systems... its up to
you to get it together.. just let others know of your plans

best

James
